FURNACES
We make crucible furnaces, day tank furnaces, continuous melt furnaces and elevated casting furnaces. All of our products are designed to melt and refine soda lime glass produced from either batch or cullet. Our most typical heating systems are gas, but we also make an excellent electrically heated crucible furnace.

CRUCIBLE FURNACES: GAS / ELECTRIC A LITTLE DISCUSSION OF HOW TO CHOOSE
Our crucible furnaces are constructed from very durable 3000o castable. Walls are 3" thick and are backed up with 8" of HTZ bulk insulating fiber. This exact combination produces the lowest amount of thermal conductivity which means very little heat energy (YOUR MONEY) is lost through the walls of the furnace. The front face of the furnace is removable for easy crucible changes and has a cleanout port to allow for the removal of any spilled glass. The door is off set slightly to the left to help you gather from the center of the pot. Heating is from above the glass as it is the most efficient way to get heat into glass. Combustion burners fire at medium velocity for high efficiency and low noise using a downdraft design. Counter current heat recuperators can be used with any of these furnaces to increase efficiency and lower fuel bills. Note that there is some loss of control with any simple recuperative system so your burner may need more adjusting than non recuperative systems. Thermocouples are placed in the side wall for more true glass temperature readings and longer life. Burner systems are made to fit the size of the furnace and are not included in the base price of the furnace.

Crucible furnace
TANK FURNACES: Dat tank glass blowing furnace
These furnaces are lined with an AZS melting chamber. This makes for a very durable melter that can run constantly for years. It is best suited for schools and rental facilities that need large amounts of glass and can not have any down time. These furnaces are more expensive to operate than crucible furnaces but are more reliable and can run constantly for longer periods of time. This style furnace is also the preference of hot casters.

Our furnaces are built with tube steel frames and compression bolts to allow for high stability of the furnace structure. The outside is held by bar grating to evenly distribute the weight of the furnace and to reduce the skin temperature. The frame is removable allowing for easy rebuilds.

Dual thermocouples are placed in the side wall away from the burner to give more reliable glass temperature readings and to maximize their life span. We make many style tanks, including the basic "day tank", multiburner elevated casting tanks and continuous melt tanks.
