We have standardized all of our glory hole sizes based on increments of 6". This allows for greater interchangability of doors, reducing the number of spares. They are constructed of mitered 28000 insulating fire brick backed up with inswool blanket and skined with a 12 gauge steel drum. Retaining rings, burner blocks and doors are cast using a very durable 30000 castable refractory. Retaining rings are removeable to allow for easy repair as they wear. All doors are circular for even heating and minimal cracking. The frame is 2" x 2" tube steel on levelers, painted with high temperature black paint. All glory holes include burners which can be placed on either left or right side. We use either ribbon burners (pine ridge) or nozzle burners (Wilton) the choice is yours. All burner blocks include side ignition ports and a UV scanner view port. Be sure to note the interior drum size! We intentionally create a larger retention surface to help keep the heat in the glory hole when all the doors are opened. This means less adjusting and most importantly less heat loss on those big pieces without increasing the gas consumption of the glory hole. We also make our glory holes in 2 interior lengths depending on your preference.
