SAFETY SOLUTIONS
Again there are many options out there for these critical components. The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) has set forth strict guidelines for the safety devices required on gas fired devices utilizing more than 50,000 btu/hr. This would include furnaces and glory holes typically. We work closely with an engineering company in designing these systems and can assist you with code compliance issues. This can be an area of considerable expense but one that should not be compromised. Remember, the goal of all the State and National codes is to create a safe working environment for you, your employees and/ or your students.

FURNACES

The most economical system we use consists of an eclipse veriflame system, ignition transformer, hi/low gas switch, low air switch, ratio regulator, dual solenoids with proof of closure, over temperature protection controller and S-type thermocouple. The typical cost installed on a furnace is $3000.

GLORY HOLES

Glory holes also require flame safety devices. In many cases the maximum BTU/HR. output of a glory hole is greater than the studios furnace. NFPA makes almost no distinction between a furnace and a glory hole and as a result flame safety is required. Glory holes do not require over Temperature protection or spark ignition to comply. Typical cost installed on a Glory hole is $2735.

We use both Eclipse and Dungs components and can wire Glory holes with independent blowers.

**If you have a flame safety system installed on a glory hole consider spark ignition. It is an inexpensive addition to the safety package.
